Pauline I recently purchased a high sierra backpack. I am an avid hiker and needed something to be able to carry my emergency kit, extra clothes and water with me on my hikes. The swerve backpack allowed carrying everything with me in comfort. I needed one with a lot of room and that would distribute the weight evenly. I had a chance to try on several of the backpacks which was nice because it gave me a chance to see the look and feel it would make while I was on my hikes. I picked one that was perfect for my needs.

Daniel I can't say there is anything genuinely unique about this bag but I can see why it's an easy solution to a common problem, i.e. you'll never have to go hiking with your pockets full of your various 'must haves'. I'd say it's actually more useful to students, who often carry lots of their belongings from uni to home and vice versa.
