Chad This movie is really one of my favorites. I really enjoy history, especially ancient Greek, Egyptian and Roman history. There aren't many movies out there that give a glimpse into the life of Alexander. The actors are great. I'm a fan of Anthony Hopkins and Colin Farrell and both do a great job in the movie. I also like the historical aspects of Alexander. I appreciate the fact that they tried to be as true to history as possible when making the movie. I know there are certainly aspects of Hollywood in it, but in all, they were pretty true to history. Having the story told by Ptolemy (Anthony Hopkins) from Alexandria, Egypt also added a more personal view of Alexander. Angelina Jolie's character, Alexander's mother, wasn't my favorite character of the movie. In my opinion, she didn't really add much to the movie. Val Kilmer did a great job in the movie and his character is important in understanding Alexander's behavior as a child and young adult. Overall, cool movie ... I own it.

Lokesh Alexander will probably be best remembered for a long time to come for being the worst movie directed by the legendary filmmaker Oliver Stone. The movie would not have been such a colossal failure that it turned out to be if proper effort had been made to make it look a bit authentic without established hollywoodesque clichés and stereotypes. Many of the well known and widely acknowledged facts about the life of Alexander the Great have also been left out of the story. Unlike his other classic movies, Oliver Stone seems to have failed to do proper research during the pre-production stage. The set decoration, art direction, costumes, supporting cast and even the choice of shooting locations were below par and look disingenuous and inauthentic. This movie also has one of the worst love making scenes I have ever seen on screen. Rosario Dawson is hot but looks nothing like an Indian princess. She appears disinterested and lacking in the necessary histrionics to carry her role with any conviction and believability. I hope that Mr. Stone refrains from making heavy budgeted historical epics in the future.

Karen Although 'Alexander' stars some of Hollywood's biggest names and is directed by a bigwig in the film production industry, I just found the movie boring! Ancient history, whether on screen or paper, is not my thing. However, I can't take anything away from the amount of hard work that went into making the film. The movie may have bored me, but the costumes, the acting, the sets and incredible the effects are what forced me to watch the entire movie.
