Jessica I fell in love with Rent in high school. First it was with the music itself. The best part about a musical is that the music tells the story. You don't need to see the play to fall in love with and enjoy a musical. All you need is the music. Each song is filled with so much emotion that you can literally feel the power in every word. Although the music and movie are both phenomenal pieces of work, the play is even more so. Jonathan Larson is a genius in his own right. The topics in Rent are controversial, especially in the time it was written. His brilliance shows through in every aspect of the play and music. Jessica was reviewing:
